5 Ways to Make Money Online

Costs are increasing and life is getting more expensive. To cope with this, you may well be looking for ways to make money online. This can help supplement your main income and give you some extra cash each month.

There is no limit to the amount of money you can make online. Some people are happy with an extra £10 or £20 a month, others make £1000s and find their side hustle income surpasses their income from their job.

Knowing where to start can be difficult. So, we have selected five of our favourite ways to make money online, which anyone can do!

  1. Start a blog
  2. Freelance online
  3. Online surveys
  4. Sell your stuff
  5. Use cashback sites

Start a blog

Starting a blog is not a quick way to make money. But once it’s up and running, a blog can be a very lucrative income source.

If you have a hobby or passion you want to share, you’ll probably enjoy blogging about it. You may even meet some like minded people too.

There will likely be some initial outgoings to starting a blog. You tend to have to pay for your website domain name and certain other fees for hosting your site.

However, once you’re up and running there’s a lot of ways you can make money, including affiliate marketing, advertising and paid partnerships.

Freelance online

Everyone has skills that someone else needs – even if you don’t think you do!

From photo and video editing, to content writing, proof reading and virtual assistant roles, there are plenty of freelancing roles available, which use skills you already have!

The beauty of using the internet is that your potential client base is huge. You can work for anyone in the world, regardless of location. This means there are so many opportunities out there for you to make the most of.

If you’re not sure where to start, sites like Fiverr and Upwork can be great places to advertise your skills.

Equally, you can use your social media platforms to showcase your skills. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok and LinkedIn can all help you find freelance work you can do from your own home – or wherever you choose to work!

Online surveys

Companies will pay you for your opinion and it’s really simple to get started.

You can sign up to different sites online and take part in surveys whenever you like.

Popular survey sites include: Swagbucks and YouGov

The amount you’re paid will vary a lot, but it is possible to make £100+ a month from online surveys. Some companies may even pay you in Amazon vouchers or similar instead.

Sell your stuff

One of the easiest ways to make money online is to sell your unwanted possessions. From clothes, to books, and even furniture – there’s a market for everything.

This will not only make you some extra cash but is also great for sustainability.

For clothes, Vinted and Depop are some of the most popular sites. Meanwhile, Ebay and Facebook Marketplace can be good starting points for other items.

Use cashback sites

Using cashback sites doesn’t technically make you money as such. But, you can get money back just for doing your normal shopping.

Top Cashback and Quidco both offer good cashback deals. It’s not difficult to get the cashback either. All you have to do is access the site you’re shopping on via your cashback provider’s page.
