Why Open Banking Is Your Best Friend

AD | I don’t know about you, but I am someone that is very meticulous when it comes to managing my personal finances. I’m so extra, I actually have 9 different bank accounts. Yes, you read that correctly – I have 9 different banking accounts ranging from my current account, stocks and shares ISA, credit card accounts to even having a bank account that holds my weekly budget! In this day and age, having more than one bank account is definitely not uncommon; especially as there are many benefits to having more than one account. This includes if you are looking to save towards your first house or are planning to invest in the stock market. If you are someone like me and has more than one bank account, then open banking is about to become your best friend. Not sure what open banking is? Then carrying on reading!

Open banking is a fairly new technology that came into force back in 2018. Open banking offers you the ability to innovatively manage and move your money which has revolutionised the way we transfer and use our money. This means that if you allow permission, your bank providers must share your banking data with third party providers such as apps that are designed to help you budget and save your money better, along with other regulated providers.

There are many open banking apps currently on the market however, my personal favourite is Roqqett, a new contender on the market. After hearing about the app early this year, it completely changed my perspective on the way I had been banking before. Whether you are looking to transfer money from your current account to your savings account or are just wanting to pay your friend back for last week’s takeaway, then Roqqett is the perfect app to help you do just that!

Not only does the app allow you to view all of your various accounts in one place helping you to simplify your banking, but more importantly, it allows you to airdrop payments to friends, request money via a unique payment link or get paid with your own QR Code even if your friends or family don’t have the app. All they need to have is a banking app downloaded on their phone!

One thing I always make sure of when downloading any financial app on my phone is that it is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). This is vital as the Financial Conduct Authority protects consumers by regulating all of the financial services offered within the UK. The last thing you want to do is fall victim to any type of fraudulent behaviour! Roqqett is a very secure app as you must use either your biometrics or pin to enter the app. To transfer money, you must also authenticate this payment directly with your bank provider making sure that these payments are being made by you and only you. It is also important to note that Roqqett does not touch or see any of the money across your various bank accounts as it automatically goes straight from your bank to the person you’re paying!

So, like I’ve mentioned before, if you are someone like me with a number of different bank accounts and could do with a tool to help uncomplicate your banking, then open banking apps like Roqqett, really are your best friend!
If you would like to download Roqqett today, you can do so here!
